Proposal
My solution:
For my project I am going to create Clean Slate Housing that will buy these homes that are in terrible shape and just rebuild the homes to create sustainable housing for the homeless. They would rebuild these houses in the Twin Cities and they would be next to each other to create this community aspect that not a lot of people were able to have. The way that the people would be able to get access to these homes would be through a website that would provide what Clean Slate Housing is doing and how to get a home if needed.
My solution will address the problem because it will provide homeless people with homes that are sustainable, and it will be for very little money or close to none, these people would be the owners of the homes so they don’t have to deal with landlords. There will also be a way for people to request repairs/replacements that are needed in their home.
Components:
Component 1: Research
The purpose of this component is to get a general understanding of how to make quality houses for cheap and where to find vacant and condemned houses.
This will be created on a digital base on google docs.
The final completed stage of this component will look like a google doc with a bunch of links to different sources that would help with the building of the houses, and have an area of vacant or condemned houses that I am able to rebuild.
Component 2: Design the Houses
The purpose of this component is to draw out what I want each house to look like and what all of the different types of houses will look like.
This will be created on a physical base with graph paper and pencils.
The final completed stage of this component will look like all of the houses will be drawn out and have everything finalized for what I want each of the houses to look like.
Component 3: Create the houses in a 3D software
The purpose of this component is to take the drawings that I drew and design them into Sketch Up so that I am able to create an experience for people, so they are able to see what the houses will look like on the exterior and the layout of the houses.
This will be created on a digital base with a program called Revit.
The final completed stage of this component will look like both of the houses completely designed in 3D with all the layouts and everything else that is needed.
Component 4: Import houses into a VR program
The purpose of this component is so that people are able to actually experience and walk through the houses through VR.
This will be created on a digital base in a program called CoSpaces.
The final completed stage of this component will look like the final completed houses in the VR software, so that people are able to walk through and experience the houses. As well as walk past info cards that will provide more information about my project.
Component 5: Find the logistics for the non - profit
The purpose of this component is to create my mission statement, find where the money for the non - profit is going to come from, who would be the owners of the houses, and how these new families would fit into the community.
This will be created on a digital base on google docs.
The final completed stage of this component will look like a google doc with a completed mission statement, a way to get money for the nonprofit, know who would own the houses, and a way for the new home owners to fit into the community.
Component 6: Start designing my website
The purpose of this component is to get the general layout of the website that I am creating for Clean Slate Housing.
This will be created on a digital base with a program called Wix.
The final completed stage of this component will look like I have a completed layout with pictures, colors, etc. Also have designated areas for everything else that will be on the website.
Component 7: Final design of website
The purpose of this component is to finalize my website. To add the text and to make sure everything is looking how I want it to, and to just make sure everything is good.
This will be created on a digital base with a program called Wix.
The finished completed stage of this component will look like an actual website for people to actually use and learn more about how many people actually need a home.

On May 18th, I will have...
Through VR I want people to have the ability to explore and walk though my homeless housing neighborhood. Also would have a mockup website of a Clean Slate Housing that would be the brains behind the building of the houses and giving people access to the homes if they need it.
