Professional
Review

On February 16th at 6:30pm, the S.T.E.AM program hosted a professional review night for all of the S.T.E.AM seniors to present their project to people to get feedback on things that they could do differently, or different directions that they could take.

I had four reviewers Paul Vo, John Palm, Bill Morphew, and Vickie Parks and I talked to each of them for about 30 minutes each. They provided me with a lot of helpful information, at that point in my project I was designing the layout of the houses and we talked a lot about the logistics of the Clean Slate Housing that I was creating.

After the professional review I thought about what I all needed and wanted on website for Clean Slate Housing and I decided to take a step back and to continue research so I could figure out the logistics for Clean Slate Housing before getting distracted by creating the houses in Revit. This also changed my original components to my project I only a few before the professional review but after I had a way more. This helped me to go more in depth with certain parts of my project like finding the logistics for Clean Slate Housing, and designing Clean Slate Housing's website.

Professional Review thank you letter

Dear (Name),

I am incredibly thankful for your time, help, and feedback on Clean Slate Housing during the Professional Review. I would like to thank you for pointing out things that my project is missing, such as how I would fund the Clean Slate Housing and how I would create a new community with the new homeowners. I would also like to thank you for pointing out the amount of time and effort that I had put into the design of my houses, it really boosted my confidence in my project.

After the Peer Review I took some time and thought about the process that I am taking to complete my project. I am going to take a step back to focus on the logistics of how the Clean Slate Housing project will work. From there I will design the houses in a 3D modeling website, and hopefully at the Expo I will have a model of the neighborhood that you are able to walk though and experience the houses along with a completed website for Clean Slate Housing.

Once again thank you for helping me to see my project from a new perspective. The feedback will be put to good use. I look forward to showing you how my project has developed at the STEAM Expo on May 18th at 6:30pm.

Sincerely,

Kendall Thinnes, Anoka High School
